I am disappointed not to have received a reply to my e-mail of the 15th of July, or my letter of August the 1st. Given the emotive nature of the debate surrounding the votes on the Draft Sexual Offences Law, I wanted to give you an opportunity to give your reasons for voting against the proposed legislation, before I came to any conclusions about it. However, your apparent desire to avoid the issue is the only clue I have to your motives, and there aren’t many positive conclusions I can draw from that. I have no stake in the Draft Sexual Offences Law. None of its provisions will affect me. However, I take a strong exception to being ignored by those who profess to serve and represent me. I consider it a serious breach of your responsibilities as an elected representative of the people of St Peter. Until now I have happily voted for you. Next time I will reconsider my support.
